Are you planning to start a YouTube channel or want to know how to get more video views?
If you’re eager to start a YouTube channel or struggling to gain views on your videos, you’re in the right place.
This comprehensive article will train you with proven strategies and tips to boost your YouTube views.
The strategies below are the BEST in 2024. I followed exactly the same on my channel, which helped me crack 1M+ organic YouTube views.
Letโs see how to get more views on YouTube without further ado.
1. Focus on CTR
My first crucial step was understanding my video’s CTR, which stands for click-through rate. This might be the first place you need to give importance to get more views on YouTube.
My issue was that my videos were getting better impressions but not gaining views. This is a common challenge for many content creators.
- Impressions: Number of times the video appears on the YouTube homepage, suggestion page, related videos page, etc.,
- Views: The number of the times, the audience clicks, and the video is watched across any platform.
For example, if the video appears 10,000 times on the YouTube search and is only watched (Clicked) 100 times, then its CTR is “1%.” This is a bad signal for the YouTube algorithm regarding your channel.
So, we really need to focus on YouTube click-through rate, but how can I increase my CTR?
Generally, there are two places you need to focus on to increase the video CTR.
- Video Title
- Custom Thumbnail
If you optimize these places, then the CTR and views of the video will increase.
Moreover, I often optimized my custom thumbnail and video title. Initially, it was hard to do, but I never gave up. Hence, the result is satisfying.
I received 226K impressions, which drove 24K views in 28 days; therefore, the CTR is 10%.
10% is a good sign of CTR on YouTube Videos. Even YouTube States:
You might ask, how did I do that? Let me explain it below one by one.
Thumbnail
YouTube offers two thumbnail display options: a frame from the video or a custom thumbnail image. I strongly advocate for the second option, as it allows you to showcase your content in a unique and attention-grabbing way.
Custom thumbnails are a powerful tool for increasing views on your YouTube channel. They allow you to express your creativity and serve as a visual hook, instantly grabbing the viewer’s attention and attracting them to click on your video.
Points to remember: While creating a thumbnail, try to keep this point in mind,
- Use the exact eye-catching color correlation to all the thumbnails.
- Don’t use different thumbnail templates for the videos. It must be a unique template for the entire channel.
- The text font size should be readable and catchy.
- Avoid clickbait video thumbnails.
- Add facial expressions (for example: Sad, Happy, Exciting).
- Use words like Offer, Discount, Free, Wow, and many exciting words, if needed.
If the video concept is based on a tutorial or current affair, try to mention the year. This will draw more audiences to watch the video on YouTube and boost the views.
Also, YouTube algorithms can find objects, texts, and images on the thumbnail using some external APIs. So, use the relevant content or keywords on the thumbnail image.
Video Title
Once your audience notices the thumbnails, their next step is often to check the video titles. This is where your content’s first impression is made, so it’s crucial to get it right.
YouTube Video titles are essential for bringing the audience to watch the videos. The title should be related to the content of what you’re talking about in the video; also, it should be out of a boxing title.
For example, the question-related titles drive more traffic. Look at the image below.
This video title increases the curiosity among audiences to watch the video. Hence, I understand that this kind of title plays a better role.
From there, I started using question-related titles on my videos and also, added the keywords at the beginning of the titles.
This combination helps to get more views, and I was shocked to notice the better CTR on my videos.
Hence, you should use any free keyword finder tools like TubeBuddy (the one I’m using) and front-load the keywords to the video title.
Also, make sure to make the following points while applying the keywords to the title.
- It must be a high-search volume keyword.
- Donโt use too many keywords โ use only one.
- Try to use the keyword at the start of the title.
- The keyword comes naturally, so donโt dumb it down for views.
2. Video Timestamps
The video timestamp is used to describe the different topics you discussed in the single video.
Initially, I thought adding a timestamp to the video description was part of the activity. But later, I learned that it helps to get more YouTube video views.
The reason is,
- User-Friendly: The viewer can switch the duration of where they need to watch the video. This allows them to get the point directly without having to watch the entire video.
- SEO Friendly: From an SEO perspective, video timestamps are powerful. By accurately labeling each chapter, you’re not only improving the user experience but also providing YouTube with valuable information, potentially boosting your video’s exposure.
Moreover, adding timestamps also helps you rank your videos on Google.
So, kindly follow the below instructions while adding a timestamp to the video.
- Kindly mention the time label. Adding time alone does not make sense, so add the appropriate label.
- Mention the exact time point. For instance, if the label says, “Finding free keyword tool” means,” then the tool should display on the screen at that time.
- Arrange the timestamp in ascending order.
- Add keywords to the label, but it should come naturally.
How to Add Timestamps to YouTube Videos?
I hope you know the place to add timestamps is the video description. However, the format is,
00:00
For example, consider the video has a 6-minute duration, and if you want to mention the time label at 2 minutes 45 seconds, it should be like,
02:45
Here is how I added my timestamp to my description.
So, when the audience clicks that time zone, the video cursor player jumps to that time.
3. Get More “End Screen” YouTube Video Views
I planned to catch and hold my viewers on my channel for a long time. So, I used the trick called adding YouTube End Screen video.
When a viewer watches the video, in the end, adding End Screens pushes them to watch one more video.
This approach helps keep the audiences on my channel for a long time and gets me more views on account.
For example, Brian Dean โ an SEO expert, gives separate space for the End Screen template for most of his videos. It’s a better plan to attack.
Unfortunately, I didn’t give individual placement for my End Screen videos.
But after I inserted it into my videos (the last 10 seconds), I could see the added end-screen videos getting more views on my YouTube channel.
Note: You can add a playlist, channel subscribes, link, or separate video element on the End Screen.
I plan to give space to the last 10 seconds in my future videos. Try the same and let me know the results in the comment section.
4. Rich Keyword Tags
As we have seen above, the keyword is the core part of the video. I hope you know the importance of keywords.
In fact, the way you use keywords, the better views you’ll get on the videos.
You can use keywords on title, description, hashtags, and timestamp labels, but one unavoidable place to use them is video tags.
To use effective keyword video tags, follow the techniques I have used on my channel below.
- Firstly, add the high search volume, long-tail, and core keyword at the start of the video tag. This means it should be the first tag (because the YouTube algorithm focuses on the first few tags more specifically).
- Add common keyword tags. For example, if the video topic is related to โcooking pasta,โ then add the keyword tags like โcookingโ and โfood preparation.โ
- Donโt use stop and unnecessary words. For instance, words like โfor,โ โan,โ โandโ โฆ
- Tags allow 500 characters only. So, donโt use the words without keyword research.
- Try to add low-competition keyword tags.
- Use the competitor-used keywords. Learn here how to see competitors used tags on YouTube videos.
I followed the above techniques strictly on my every new video. The results are expected as it is.
However, many of them ask how to find the keywords.
The answer is,
- You need the best YouTube keyword-finder SEO tools.
5. Embed Video on Blog
When you ask how to get more views on YouTube, you must diversify the traffic of your videos.
Embedding YouTube videos in the blog post provides better exposure to the channel.
If you have a blog, then embed the video into the related post. If you donโt have one, request the related top performing blogger and suggest a video to post.
Most of the time, they donโt turn their ears to your side. So, for the better and safer side, create your blog.
A recent study states that embedding a video in a blog post increases its chance of ranking and getting more views.
6. Video Consistency
I started my micro niche channel four years ago, and from July to August, I regularly posted one video a day. For the first few days, the views did not lift.
Even I was taught to quit this channel and focus on my previous channel. But I tried a few more months with a daily uploading formula. Then, I noticed that my video views were getting increasing on YouTube.
I’ve stopped uploading on that channel right now, but even though I’m checking it, it is still getting me decent views.
Generally, I learned two things from these challenging days.
- Never quit anything too early. Because you donโt know that the next step may be a success.
- Consistent uploading on YouTube is one proven way to get more views.
If you can upload videos daily, then do it. If you can upload one video per week, then do that.
But be consistent with your schedule. Also, remember to upload the quality content.
7. Analyse Audiences Interactions for More Views
We love our video content, but we donโt know whether the viewer likes it. Customer satisfaction is the heart of success in any business.
On YouTube, viewers express themselves in various ways, such as liking or disliking the video, making suggestions, or leaving appreciative comments.
You need to really concentrate and analyze those places to check the performance of your video.
In the meantime, the YouTube algorithm might consider these things as their ranking factor. So, give more importance to these sections to get a better traffic and get the more views on YouTube.
Conclusion
By following the above techniques and strategies on my channel, I got 1 Million+ video views.
If you apply the same to your channel, you can definitely see the growth in your analytics.

“biography” this is a profitable niche or not?
Hi,
I hope the name “Bhaiya” sounds like the Hindi word. If you want to target Indian or Hindi known audiences, this name is more than good enough. But if you’re targeting global people, then have the name in English.
May I know which whiteboard animation tool you’re going to use?
